How to set up a festive table - the Pinch way!

Apr 2025

With endless dinner party season upon us, we’re here to help you twist your table with three unique Pinch tricks. Let’s dive in and make your dinner parties ones to remember!

Designing food candles

Candle-lit tables create the perfect vibe, but have you ever thought about using food as the holder? Picture this: Swiss cheese, lotus roots, or even a bagel holding your candles. It’s fun, it’s sustainable, and it adds an extra layer of seasonal poetry to your table setting.

Pinch Pro Tip: We opted for natural beeswax candles to keep our food chemical-free and safe, have a longer burn time, and keep the aroma neutral.

Menu-pairing name tags

Forget boring name tags – it’s time to Pinch things up! Instead of the usual, why not let your ingredients do the talking? There’s something special about seeing your name at the table, so for our playful twist, we suggest surprising your guests by using ingredients from the meal as name tag holders. It’s like giving them a little sneak peek of what’s cooking!

Plus, it allows everyone to appreciate the beauty of fresh ingredients before they’re transformed into a delicious dish. For our dinner, we featured a fall mushroom risotto and used a few fresh mushrooms as tag holders. They were absolutely gorgeous!

Pinch Pro Tip: You can let your guests take home their ingredient + name tag and encourage them to cook with it!

Decor you can eat

We all love flowers, but for fall, let’s shake things up with some edible décor! We hit up our local farmers market and scored some gems like zucchini flowers, purple and white asparagus, and endives. Imagine these vibrant crudités styled to entice, all paired with flavorful dips - think creamy hummus or herb-infused olive oils. Tasty + beautiful? Oh yes, we’re all in!

Pinch Pro Tip: To help us keep our edible décor nice and organized we used a Japanese kenzan flower holder.

Your fridge is the limit

These are just a few ideas to spark your Pinch-spiration table designs. Snap some photos and send them our way, we’re excited to see how you let your imagination run wild!

P.S. We went old school with film cameras to capture a vintage vibe. Hand one around at your dinner, let your guests get in on the fun, and send the developed photos to everyone after the dinner!
