Pinch Food Design is a New York–based culinary studio known for rethinking what catering can be. Founded by Chef Bob in 2011, and joined by Designer Marjorie in 2016, Pinch merges food and design to create experiences that are as inventive as they are unforgettable. Their work brings together craft, performance, and sustainability - challenging traditional catering while staying grounded in a zero-waste mission.
What began as a question - what if food could be performed, not just plated? - led to the creation of Pinch’s signature “food furniture” and a style of service that blurs the line between cuisine and spectacle.

Pinch’s team of chefs, trained around the world, are known for distilling the essence of a dish into a single bite. Whether it’s an hors d’oeuvre or a plated meal, every dish is designed with equal attention to flavor, form, and presentation. All food is prepared in their Chelsea kitchen and finished on-site for peak freshness.
The bar program follows the same philosophy. Pinch mixologists experiment with bold flavor profiles and unexpected formats, pushing cocktails beyond the glass. Their sustainability-minded garnish gels - crafted in-house as an alternative to citrus wedges - reduce waste while adding a refined, modern twist to every drink.
At its core, Pinch Food Design is about turning dining into an experience: thoughtful, playful, and memorable.
Led by Marjorie Artieres, Pinch’s in-house design team creates food displays that are both playful and refined, rethinking how guests experience presentation. From cocktail fountains to translucent serving tables, each piece is engineered to invite interaction and spark conversation.
Every element is designed, prototyped, and built in Pinch’s own workshop, allowing for full creative control from concept to execution. Built with transport in mind, the pieces are flat-packed for efficient delivery and installation. The collection continues to evolve, with new designs introduced regularly to keep experiences fresh and unexpected.

Pinch Pop-Ups
Pop-Ups are roaming food moments designed to spark curiosity and invite interaction. Usually carried out by one or two team members, these mobile experiences bring the element of surprise directly to guests.
Some highlights include:
The Churro Brelli: A canopy of umbrellas suspended overhead, each holding warm churros for guests to pluck straight from above.
The Orbit Pop-Up: A sculptural half-moon, built from recycled chef cutting boards, where two servers stand back-to-back, turning the act of serving into a performance.
Passed Bites
Beyond spectacle, Pinch is known for distilling the essence of a dish into a single, unforgettable bite. Ideal for cocktail parties, these hors d’oeuvres transform familiar recipes into compact culinary experiences.
Signature examples include:
Chicken Caesar Salad Bite: A single cube capturing the crunch, creaminess, and zest of a full Caesar salad.
Ten Layer Lasagna: Parmesan béchamel, rich tomato concentrate, and Impossible meat stacked into an intense, bite-sized square.
Burrata in Tomato Water: A delicate orb of burrata dipped in tomato water and topped with micro-herbs—appearing like a tomato, but revealing creamy cheese inside.
Pinch’s interactive stations are not buffets - they are installations that merge food, design, and innovation. Each one is built to encourage exploration and engagement, inviting guests to step up and take part.
Highlights include:
The Glow Table: A custom-built table that illuminates the room from within, making the food itself the light source. Years of research and development went into creating this glowing platform, where flavor and spectacle converge.
The Cocktail Fountain: A reinvention of the champagne tower, designed for sustainability and ease. Guests serve themselves from a continuous stream of cocktails flowing from a stainless steel spout, chilled by an internal cooling system and free from flat bubbles or sticky glassware.
A seated dinner with Pinch is never conventional. Each course is infused with play, surprise, and theatricality - turning the table itself into a stage.
Signature dishes include:
The Pillow Cracker: A layered Greek salad - feta, cucumber, tomato, corn, and eggplant - concealed beneath a giant cracker. Guests are handed tiny maracas marked “smash,” breaking through the cracker to reveal the dish in a joyful, communal moment.
Tres Leches Smash Dessert: A rich tres leches cake hidden beneath a delicate sugar-glass ceiling. Guests are given miniature mallets to crack it open, transforming dessert into both texture and performance.
