Pinch at New York Design Week 2026

NYCxDESIGN Week is one of the weeks we look forward to most each year. It is a time when the city becomes the platform for ideas, experimentation, and creative exchange through the lens of design. And as a culinary and design studio based in NYC, it’s right up Pinch’s alley. 

This year, we’re participating in a number of ways. From installations to panel discussions, here’s where you can experience Pinch during NYCxDESIGN Week:

We’re proud to cater the official NYCxDESIGN Week Opening Party once again. 

Join us as we welcome the global design community to this exciting kickoff event, one of our favorite moments on the NYC calendar. 

Our menu will feature some of our most inventive bites, presented alongside a curated selection of Pinch’s “food furniture” in action. Throughout the evening, guests will experience interactive installations, sculptural serving pieces, and unexpected moments that blur the line between food and design.

NYCxDESIGN Festival Opening Party

Pinch Food Design, in collaboration with USM Modular Furniture, presents Food Form Function, a thirty-day exhibition exploring the intersection of food, design, and interaction.

On view at USM’s SoHo showroom, the space is transformed into a series of functional, food furniture installations that merge structure and service. Modular drawers reveal and conceal, suspended elements invite interaction, and sculptural systems pour, rotate, and evolve.For the first time, USM’s unique line of modular furniture is reimagined to participate in the serving of the food, not simply acting as a surface for a great meal. 

Rather than a static display, the exhibition unfolds as a living environment, encouraging visitors to move through, engage, and discover how design can shape not only objects, but behavior, experience, and connection.

Join our Creative Director, Marjorie Artieres, alongside a group of leading voices at this year’s Industrial Designers Society of America Food Design Panel, as they share insights on practicing as a food designer in New York.

Hosted by IDSA NYC Women in Design, Taste Makers celebrates women industrial designers working at the intersection of food and design. The panel brings together practitioners at the forefront of both disciplines for a conversation on process, innovation, and the future of design, followed by an opportunity to connect with a community shaping what comes next.

To close NYCxDESIGN Week, Tina Frey Design and Pinch Food Design present Soft Serve, the launch of Pinch’s first-ever home serving collection: a series of sculptural, functional pieces designed for both intimate gatherings and large-scale entertaining.

The collection builds on a longstanding collaboration between the two studios, merging experiential hospitality with hand-crafted design. The result is a collection that blurs the line between serveware and sculpture, where the precision of New York event production meets the quiet serenity of home living.
