Summer and pool time are right around the corner, and honestly, we’re more than ready for it.
At Pinch, warmer weather always inspires us to rethink how food can move through a space and how guests can interact with it in unexpected ways. Enter: The Pool Interaction, one of our favorite immersive summer concepts.
Inspired by the work of Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, this interactive station transforms a pool-like surface into a drifting culinary experience, where dishes gently float across the water waiting to be discovered.
Rather than approaching a traditional buffet or passing tray, guests gather around the installation, watching bites glide by before selecting their next snack. The experience feels playful, a little surreal, and perfectly suited for summer entertaining.
The menu is designed to feel just as fresh and unexpected as the interaction itself. Floating across the surface, guests might find:
Shrimp cocktail with virgin mary tomatoes, horseradish cream, and squid ink fish crackers
Ponzu-cured watermelon with toasted coriander seeds, grilled corn, and cashew feta
Like many of our food furniture concepts, The Pool is designed to evolve throughout an event. What begins as a floating savory experience can later transform into an entirely different moment.
For dessert, the installation flips into a playful takeaway station featuring floating origami boxes filled with raspberry pistachio cookies, giving guests one final interaction before heading out into the night.
Splash you later.
