GrowNYC x Pinch Food Design: An Evening Celebrating Sustainability

Dec 2025

Sustainability is just as essential as taste and presentation. At Pinch, we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact at every stage of your event, by purchasing local produce, donating to regenerative farming programs, and maintaining carbon neutrality.

This week, we partnered with GrowNYC, a leading environmental nonprofit to host an evening celebrating our sustainable food ecosystem, bringing together our community of farmers, chefs, and sustainability advocates who help NY local food network thrive.

Guests enjoyed a seasonal menu featuring produce sourced from New York–local farms through GrowNYC Wholesale and prepared by the Pinch chefs.

The Menu

  • Spicy Crudité: seasonal rainbow carrots and radishes with parmesan fondue + hummus on The Frame Shelves Interaction
  • Vegetable Cheese Tarts: hon shimeji + black truffle; yellow carrot + golden beet + squash; asparagus + peas; roasted tomato + thyme on The Pedestal Interaction
  • Rutabaga Tempura: raspberry, crispy rosemary + orange blossom agave on The Orbit Pop-Up
  • Spiked Little Gem Lettuce: pomegranate syrup, dried cherries, spicy sunflower seeds on The Greenhouse Pop-Up
  • NY-Style Cheesecake: apple + fennel and cranberry + pomegranate glaze on The Pedestal Interaction
  • Beet Tarragon Shrub Cocktail: tequila, carrot-beet shrub, ginger beer, fresh lemon on The Market Cart

The Future Tastes Local

We hosted a panel discussion on the future of sustainable farming, and how these practices shape the work of NYC chefs, restaurants, caterers, and growers.

Panelists:

• Tutu Badaru Badaru - GrowNYC Assistant Director, Food Access

zaid kurdieh - Norwich Meadows Farm Co-owner

Moosah Reaume - The Carlyle Executive Chef

Bob Spiegel - Pinch Food Design Chef + Founder

A Collective Effort

None of this would have been possible without the collective effort of our community, from the farmers who nurtured every ingredient, to the chefs who transformed them, to the advocates working every day to build a more sustainable food system, and to everyone who chooses to work with us for their events.

Cheers to a sustainable, local future!
